| From the Pastors.... |
What a great day to be in the house of the Lord. We have had an unexpected burst of sunshine and warmth this year. As you settle into the pew this morning, take a few moments to reflect over the week and those things you are most thankful for. Our church has been invited to partner with Neighborhood House to meet an urgent need in our local community. Each weekend there are children who are going hungry. The schools provide breakfast, lunch and sometimes even dinner for the children during the week, but they have had no resources for the weekend. They have started a pilot project at some of our local schools by providing a backpack filled with enough food for the weekend for the child to take home. We've been given a list of food items that they need each week. Invite you to take the list with you on your trips to the grocery store and add a few things to help these children. Foods needed: peanut butter, jelly, tuna, string cheese, fruit cups, cereal bars, oatmeal, microwaveable meals and snacks that are kid friendly. If you are interested in helping out with this urgent request, please let Pastor Frank or Debbie Brenning know and they will get you more information. We will identify the various ministry opportunities that Rivergate is involved in and post them so you can find an area that interests you.
